About This Role
We are looking for an energetic Community & Events Intern to grow and manage Pawanax's communities — online and in-person. You will organise hackathons, webinars, and health-tech meetups while building relationships with students, doctors, researchers, and technologists across Africa.
We are prioritizing builders who are deeply curious, mission-driven, and excited to grow fast while solving real African healthcare problems.
What You'll Do
- Plan and execute community events — hackathons, webinars, panel discussions, and networking sessions
- Manage and moderate online communities (Discord, WhatsApp, LinkedIn Groups)
- Build relationships with universities, medical schools, and tech hubs
- Create event materials — agendas, speaker briefs, promotional content
- Track and report community engagement metrics
- Identify and onboard ambassadors and student chapter leads across African universities
Requirements
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Experience organising events or community activities
- Comfort with online community platforms
- Passion for healthcare, AI, or social impact
Nice to Have
- Prior work with a tech community, university society, or NGO
- Existing relationships with Kenyan or African tech/health ecosystems
- Graphic design or content creation skills
