About This Role
We need a Finance & Grants Intern with strong analytical and writing skills to help us manage financial models, track budgets, and identify and apply for grants from international development organisations, impact investors, and government programmes.
We are prioritizing builders who are deeply curious, mission-driven, and excited to grow fast while solving real African healthcare problems.
What You'll Do
- Research and identify relevant grants, fellowships, and impact funding opportunities
- Draft grant applications and impact reports
- Maintain financial models and update monthly forecasts
- Track expenses and produce monthly budget vs actuals reports
- Assist in investor materials preparation (financial projections, cap table, data room)
- Monitor grant databases including Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Wellcome Trust, USAID, and African Development Bank
Requirements
- Strong analytical and quantitative skills
- Proficiency in Excel or Google Sheets
- Clear and persuasive writing ability
- Attention to detail and comfort with financial data
Nice to Have
- Experience with grant writing or proposal development
- Understanding of impact investing and development finance
- Prior exposure to startup financials or accounting
