About This Role

Build the data infrastructure that powers Pawanax. You'll design clinical data pipelines, build analytics dashboards, and work with HL7/FHIR health data standards — helping us understand disease patterns across 14 African countries at scale.

We are prioritizing builders who are deeply curious, mission-driven, and excited to grow fast while solving real African healthcare problems.

What You'll Do

  • Design and maintain ETL pipelines for healthcare data from clinics across Africa
  • Build analytics dashboards for clinical outcomes and usage patterns
  • Work with HL7/FHIR health data standards and EHR integrations
  • Develop predictive models for disease surveillance and outbreak detection
  • Ensure data privacy compliance (HIPAA, GDPR, Kenya Data Protection Act)
  • Create data documentation and maintain data dictionaries

Requirements

  • Strong Python skills (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
  • Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)
  • Experience building data visualizations (Matplotlib, Plotly, or similar)
  • Understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning basics
  • Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy

Nice to Have

  • Experience with health informatics or clinical data
  • Knowledge of HL7/FHIR standards or EHR systems
  • Familiarity with dbt, Apache Airflow, or similar data tools
  • Experience with African health datasets (DHS, DHIS2, etc.)
