About This Role
Build the data infrastructure that powers Pawanax. You'll design clinical data pipelines, build analytics dashboards, and work with HL7/FHIR health data standards — helping us understand disease patterns across 14 African countries at scale.
We are prioritizing builders who are deeply curious, mission-driven, and excited to grow fast while solving real African healthcare problems.
What You'll Do
- Design and maintain ETL pipelines for healthcare data from clinics across Africa
- Build analytics dashboards for clinical outcomes and usage patterns
- Work with HL7/FHIR health data standards and EHR integrations
- Develop predictive models for disease surveillance and outbreak detection
- Ensure data privacy compliance (HIPAA, GDPR, Kenya Data Protection Act)
- Create data documentation and maintain data dictionaries
Requirements
- Strong Python skills (Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-learn)
- Proficiency in SQL (PostgreSQL preferred)
- Experience building data visualizations (Matplotlib, Plotly, or similar)
- Understanding of statistical analysis and machine learning basics
- Attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy
Nice to Have
- Experience with health informatics or clinical data
- Knowledge of HL7/FHIR standards or EHR systems
- Familiarity with dbt, Apache Airflow, or similar data tools
- Experience with African health datasets (DHS, DHIS2, etc.)
